The 2nd ICCDA 2015

The problems in coastal areas requires an integrated handling, considering the community dependence on coastal and marine resources large enough for survival. Related to these problems, university shave an important role in contributing ideas to provide input suggestions and solutions. Therefore, Faculty of Engineering, Sultan Agung Islamic University, will held of the International Conference with the theme of “Integrated Solutions to Overcome The Climate Change Impact on Delta Areas”.

In response to the different issues that arise in coastal areas, the UNISSULA Faculty of Engineering will host a Climate Change on Coastal Area Event from November 15th to 19th, 2015. This event includes four activities:

    • Excursion (a one-day tour),

On the one day tour activity on November 15th 2015, namely visiting the Tlogo Agro Tourism, Ambarawa Railway Museum and Joglo Hills. Followed by 50 students and lecturers from various universities in the Netherlands and 30 Indonesian students.

    • International Competition of Floating Building Design (for students),

The International Competition for Floating Building Design was hosted at the Faculty of Engineering UNISSULA from November 16th to 18th, 2015. This is the first competition conducted in Indonesia. This activity competes in three sorts of Floating Building categories: House, Office, and Stage/Podium. The goal of this project is to bring together Indonesian and Dutch students to create creative floating buildings as an alternative building solution in flood-prone locations. The event was attended by 33 Dutch and 33 Indonesian students.

    • Workshop on Semarang Old City,

A workshop on Semarang’s Old City was held at the UNISSULA Faculty of Engineering from November 16th to 18th, 2015. The workshop’s theme was “Drainage System Plan in Semarang Old City,” and it featured expert speakers in the field of water construction, such as Prof. Bar Schultz from International Hydrolic Engineering, Delft, The Netherlands, Prof. Hannah Frederiks from Rotterdam University, and several others. This session had 50 participants who represented various universities and government entities.

    • International Conference on Coastal and Delta Areas.

This event is a partnership between the Faculty of Engineering UNISSULA and Rotterdam University in the Netherlands.

The 2nd International Conference on Coastal and Delta Areas, with the theme “Integrated Solution to Overcome the Climate Change Impact on Coastal Areas,” take place on November 19th, 2015, from 8 am to 16 pm at the Grand Candi Hotel Semarang. This seminar demonstrates UNISSULA’s active engagement in contributing ideas, feedback, proposals, and solutions to numerous climate change-related concerns in the delta region (coasts, estuaries, and rivers).

In addition, an oral presentation session will be held to allow lecturers, students, and researchers to publish their scientific work.

Excellent Moments in the 2nd ICCDA 2015

The aim of the upcoming conference is to provide a dynamic hybrid platform that ensures global accessibility, offering both in-person and virtual participation. The objective is to engage attendees in thought-provoking sessions, including plenary talks from internationally renowned experts, vibrant parallel panels addressing key issues in technology, engineering, environment, and urban and regional development, as well as a series of interactive events.
