ICCDA #5
The 5th ICCDA 2023
The 5th International Conference on Coastal and Delta Area (5th ICCDA) was held in Jayakarta Hotel, Senggigi, Lombok, Indonesia on October 19th-20th, 2023.
Background
Coastal areas are areas that have great potential to be developed. Development of coastal areas as a city has a very strategic value owing to the fact that the city can be developed into industrial cities, ports, power generation, recreation, and conservation. Development of coastal areas is expected to improve the economy and welfare of the population in this coastal region. However, in its development, the coastal area is easily affected due to climate change. The impacts of climate change on coastal areas include sea level rising resulting in land loss, coastline changes, tidal flooding and other problems on transportation and infrastructures. As for transportation, destruction on pavement (rigid and flexible) is obvious due to problem on foundation soil and quality of pavement itself. Main infrastructures such as buildings, bridges, and roads experience big settlement because of foundation. In addition, the problems that occur in coastal areas are also caused by regional and city spatial planning that is less integrated, comprehensive and sustainable. These problems require integrated handling from engineering perspective such as civil engineering, urban and regional planning, and environmental engineering. Associated with these problems, Universities play an important role in contributing thoughts to provide input advice and solutions. Therefore, Engineering Faculty of Universitas Islam Sultan Agung (UNISSULA) in partnership with Universitas Islam Al Azhar (UNIZAR) will answer the challenge by organizing 2 day – international conference entitled “International Conference on Coastal and Delta Areas 5 (ICCDA 2023)”.
The Objectives :
- This international conference will bring together leading academic scientists, researchers and scholars from around the world to disseminate their latest research ideas, results/outputs, and applications in the areas of engineering such as geotechnical engineering, highway materials & transportation engineering, coastal/hydro engineering, environmental engineering, urban and regional planning.
- To give ideas and solutions to the government and society related to problems, and development of coastal areas in order to improve the economy and prosperity of the society.
Topics :
- Plan, design, and construction to develop smart infrastructure in coastal and delta areas
- Climate change challenge, disaster mitigation, and infrastructure in coastal and delta areas
- Sustainable development in coastal & delta areas
- Policy, socioeconomics, law, and multi-aspects to built environment in coastal & delta areas
